Awards Dinner

The President’s Award – 2023 – Wayne Deptuck.

Awarded by the President to the KFFA Member the President believes has contributed specially to the aims and objectives of the KFFA.

The recipient this year is like my right hand man especially when it comes to computer information I/we wouldn’t be where we are today without Wayne Deptucks  involvement. Whenever I have a question Wayne is just a text or email away. He’s also been an Executive Member and commanded our Members attention during his Fly Tying 101/Method Session on his fleeing Shrimp 

 

Ian Denbigh Award belonged to the Club less than 18 months:

2023 –Gerry Bowers.

• This trophy is presented to the regular member who has belonged to the Club less than 18 months since their confirmation of membership and has been the most active member and contributed the most toward the Club objectives.
• We definitely want to recognize those that become a Member of the Club and actively participate. Gerry Bowers has attended monthly dinner meetings and Fly Tying 101/Method Sessions. He is also on the 2024 Executive as a Director.

Dexheimer – Largest Trout – 2023 - Gil Schiller 10 lbs. 6 ounces Dairy lake.

Ok Gil this isn’t the first time you’ve won this award so tell us about the trout that landed you the Dexheimer.

 

Dreams along the River: 2023 - Harold Braun 11.4 Bull Trout.

 

Donated by Tracy Murdoch and is awarded annually to person who demonstrates accomplishments in conservation with regard to Rivers or has caught a big fish on a river.

This years recipient didn’t state “Secret River/fly” no he actually said it was caught on the Columbia River near Revelstoke and on an Olive Green Rabbit hair leach. How about Harold Braun giving us blow by blow of the battle with his 11.4 lb. Bull Trout. Congratulations Harold.
