Fear No Fish (except Barracuda) Fishout Expedition Crew Bone Fishing Review:
We left for Mount Pleasant Lodge (MPL) on Andros Island on Monday April 4th arrived on the 5th and started fishing on the 6th. We fished through to & including April 15th left on the 16th and arrived home on the 17th. It took 2 days to travel to & from MPL. This maybe different in the future with more flights since Covid -19 is winding down.
There were ten people in our group and everyone caught a Bonefish, some also caught Barracuda & Lemon Sharks along with Snapper & Boxfish.
Our contacts at MPL were Stacy Taylor and Laurie Marshall. The website is https://www.mtpfishing.com/ . One thing you need to know is that you can’t call the Bahamas directly unless you have international calling on your cell plan. The best way to contact them is via the website or email Laurie at lmarshall@mtpfishing.com .
The trip was booked through Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures https://www.yellowdogflyfishing.com/ . Chad Chorney, Bahamas Director was our contact. You can view details of Mount Pleasant on the Yellow Dog site too.
Before we left each participant chipped in $60.00 to purchase a fly tying vise & equipment for Bahamians that would be interested in learning to tie flies. We had fly tying sessions (setup by MPL) in the evening towards the end of our trip Austin (Stacy’s son) & Blaine (son of one of our guides) each received a rotary vice, fly tying equipment & supplies. During our stay we learned that Ray, our main Walking/Wading guide didn’t have a fly rod & in fact had never caught a Bonefish on a fly, so we got together and gave him a fly rod, reel, leader & some flies. To see the excitement on their faces made everything worthwhile. These items will change their lives.
Tight lines.
Fear No Fish (except Barracuda) Fishout Expedition Crew.
