February 21st Monthly Dinner Meeting
Submitted by lpiggin on Tue, 2023-02-21 21:42Great dinner meeting at the Shanghi Mandarin Restaurant on Tuesday night. Twenty six Members attended. Fly of the Month Award went to Mike Doutaz & Richard Bailey for conducting our Rod Building Sessions (15 members some new). Jesse Jones Conservation Officer attended; he gave a brief presentation and then answered many questions from our Members. Information on Fly Casting Lessons will be sent out shortly. Tight lines. 2023 January Ice Fishing Lodgepole Lake
Submitted by lpiggin on Wed, 2023-01-18 10:26On January 14th we had our “Tired of Turkey” (as I call it) Ice fishing fishout. This was our first fishout of the New Year. The highlight for me was hot dogs over the fire and the comradery with my Members. I didn’t catch any fish but some were caught and everyone had a good time. Len Piggin President KFFA

Fly of the Month was awarded to Dave Ouellette for his fishing adventure to Red Lake & Don Trethewey for giving samples of his best producing ice fishing fly pattern.
Richard Bailey & Rick Meridew made an excellent presentation on their 2022 November Bone Fishing trip. Next trip to Mount Pleasant Lodge on Andros Island will be 2023 November 18th-30th (tentative dates).
Fly Tying 101/Method Session
Submitted by lpiggin on Tue, 2022-11-22 14:47Monday night (November 21st) we had our Fly Tying 101/Method Session. Gil Schiller tied several of his Crony fly patterns. Twenty two Members/Guests attended. Fly tying supplies were picked up by Members/Guests. Lots of questions were asked of Gil. Our next session will be in 2023. The video from this session will be posted to our Fly Tying Members Only Tab. Tight lines.
November monthly meeting

The Fly of the Month award went to Sandy MacDonald for all his work on the Sport Fish Advisory Board (SFAB). Sandy attends in person and phone conference calls regularly and is our voice for Salmon (Sockeye) fishing in the Thompson River.
October 25th monthly meeting
Submitted by lpiggin on Wed, 2022-10-26 12:49Our October monthly meeting was held at the Shanghai Mandarin. The Save Boating Guide that is published by Transport Canada was handed out to all Members, skill testing questions will be asked on this topic at our November monthly meeting.

Because of Covid-19 we haven’t had any meetings till this fall. We have finalized our trophy winners for the year 2021 they are;

Doug Scorrar – Largest Salmon caught on a cast fly 29.4 lbs.
Fishout & Monthly Meeting
Submitted by lpiggin on Wed, 2022-09-21 09:32Our monthly dinner meetings are back, with our first one being held at the Shanghai Mandarin Restaurant on Summit Drive. An excellent meal put on by Hannah and Staff. Twenty seven Members attended and heard Brain Daniliewicz talk about our new fly tying store Casting Loops fly & tackle. We are excited to have a fly fishing store in Kamloops.
June 7th Monthly Meeting
